End of Year Letter
Brothers and Sisters,
As we end this year reflecting on and celebrating God taking on human flesh, those of us in the battle to abolish abortion are also recalling God’s work for the preborn this past year. It has been a historic year in the annals of the American Abortion Holocaust. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, leading to a ramping up of persecution. Anti-abortion activists of all stripes saw an increase in violence from pro-aborts as well as targeting by the DOJ. Praise God, things in Pennsylvania have not been much quieter.
In 2021, by God’s grace, we identified a State Representative (Dave Zimmerman) willing to introduce the first bill to abolish abortion in our state’s history. Despite the success of the Republican establishment in killing this bill(The Equal Justice
Act) before it could even get a number, the fruit of this labor has been glorious. In September 2021, we had the first Rally to Abolish Abortion in PA history. End Abortion Now and Action for Life graciously helped us gather 340 people to demand the abolition of abortion. This turnout was nothing to scoff at, considering the abortion abolitionist movement in PA was grassroots with zero funding at the time. Many new connections were made and in early 2022, Abolish Abortion PA was established as the first official Abolitionist Organization in PA. Over this past year, we were able to confirm the support of the Equal Justice Act by three different State Rep. candidates and make a new ally in the General Assembly.
With generous support throughout the state and country, we created new literature, supported mothers who spared their babies’ lives, and held our first-ever abolitionist conference in September 2022. The conference was exhilarating and encouraging, drawing over 200 hundred people to hear from world-renowned speakers like Rusty Thomas and Matt Trewhella. Our ministry at the abortion mill during the conference caused quite a stir. Local Antifa groups not only came out to oppose us but even resorted to vandalizing 4 of our vehicles. We praise God that we could suffer even this light affliction for the name of Christ.
Despite all of this, the most exciting development has been the brothers and sisters who have joined the fight. Some have stepped up and become leaders in the movement to a great extent. This is a welcomed development as we seek to advance the cause of the preborn for the glory of King Jesus. Thanks to this, we are encouraged and emboldened to move ahead with big plans for 2023. As the brethren throughout the state continue to minister at the abortion mills regularly, we also plan to have multiple mill outreaches and statewide lobby days at the Capitol. In addition to this, Lord willing, we will be moving forward with the “Equip My Church” project. We will be training and helping local churches to establish ministries to their local abortion mills as well as their local and state level civil government representatives. Look out for more details on all of these efforts throughout the year.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Pray for equal justice for the preborn, for civil government officials (Republican and Democrat alike) to repent and bear fruit for Christ, and pray for our efforts this coming year.
2. If you are able, please support us financially: AAPA
3. Join our email list at abolishabortionpa.com and follow us
on Facebook, Twitter, and Gab to stay up to date.
4. Contact us and let us know you want to get involved. We need all the help we can get.
5. Talk to those in your circle of influence, especially church
elders, and inform them of the abolitionist position and our
work to abolish abortion in PA.
Thank you all for your support and help throughout this year. God has graciously given us a great core group of brothers and sisters in PA, as well as many mentors and supporters throughout the country. We look forward to seeing God continue to shake the foundations of this culture of death in Pennsylvania as Christ’s Kingdom advances from victory to victory.
Merry Christmas! Christ is King! Happy New Year!
For Christ’s Glory,
The Abolish Abortion PA Team,
Sal Piccolo
